Dr. Mitchell has been ultrasounding since 2007. During his undergraduate studies he was selected as an intern for a study involving spinal fusion fixation techniques using calf spines as models. It was his interest in biomedical engineering that spurred a career involving animal physiology, eventually leading to a career in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Mitchell provides thorough and efficient imaging. With a background in engineering, he is a trained problem solver, with the experience and know-how to interpret and apply sonographic pathology in a clinical perspective to help manage your difficult cases. Sonographer: Lara Wiseman, DVM
Dr. Lara Wiseman always knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian and worked in the field as a volunteer and then technician as soon as she could. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania and it was there that her interest in ultrasound was peaked working as a specialist technician in radiology. Dr. Wiseman then attended the University of Florida to study veterinary medicine and graduated with academic honors - Go Gators! She went on to complete an intensive internship and years in fast-paced general practice where she continued to utilize and hone her special interest in sonography before jumping in full time. Her history managing complicated cases gives her a unique opportunity to provide both ultrasound findings and what that means for the next steps in your patient’s care.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Wiseman enjoys reading, traveling and spending time outdoors - hiking, biking and diving - with her husband Jake and amazing kids, Talia and Gabriel. They also like just spending time on the couch with a good movie and their four-legged canine family: Einstein, Ginny Burger and Tofu, all adoptions and very spoiled. |
Sonographer: Lisa Bancroft, DVM
Lisa Bancroft attended Cornell University as an undergraduate and obtained her B.S. degree in Animal Science, with concentration in reproductive physiology. She went on to attend SUNY Potsdam in upstate NY where she received her Masters in teaching. She taught high school Biology and Chemistry for 5 years before returning to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
She graduated from Cornell in 1999 and began her career as a mixed large and small animal practitioner. Her interest in ultrasound began with bovine reproductive work, and then naturally it began to be used in her small animal practice as well. Dr Bancroft spent the last 8 years working in a progressive small animal hospital in North Carolina, where ultrasound was an integral part of her internal medicine and surgical case work-ups. In addition to her vast years of both large and small animal surgery and internal medicine, Dr Bancroft is also certified in veterinary acupuncture, chiropractic and food therapy. Dr Bancroft recently relocated to Florida and is enjoying the sunny weather. She is an avid biker and hopes to get many miles in the saddle. In addition to biking, she also enjoys international travel and cooking. Her Portuguese Water Dog, Nix, hates the water. And her, cat, Prim, is a 14 year old ”gift”. |
